So I guess I should start with Friday. Friday I had a swim on my schedule, and I met a teammate from TNT at the neighborhood pool. The Swim Gods were not with me. I just wasn't feeling the swim and after swimming about 1500 meters I gave it up. I was told that was the right thing to do. Sometimes if it just isn't right it's okay to just stop...for now.
Saturday I had a 60 mile bike and a 15 min. run on my schedule. I had a great ride! I rode the first 15 miles on my own and then I met a couple of my friends for the rest of the ride. We ended up doing some over-gearing, and some hill repeats, and some pick-ups. So by the end of the ride with only 3 miles left to the end I BONKED! I hit a wall. I apparently didn't eat enough, or drink enough, or both...on the ride. During the ride down Martha's Chapel Rd my shoulder and hip were really bugging me. I wasn't loving how my body was feeling. When we stopped at the stop sign at the end of the road, I just felt wonky. I was shaky and light-headed and felt a little nauseous. My friend Chris ended up riding back to the car and getting his car to come pick me and my bike up. Vicky stayed with me while he went back. It was a really weird feeling that lasted most of the rest of the day. Needless to say I didn't run after my 59.49 mile bike ride (I missed 3 miles at the end).
When I got home Jason had made me some food and chocolate milk. I sat in the hot tub for a little bit, to hopefully help ease some of my crazy muscle pain. And then I took a shower and a HUGE NAP!
I had already planned a night out with the girls. Jason made dinner for Kim and I (Yummy Steak Salad). We went to a new place called Wine & Design where we brought our own wine and they helped us paint a beautiful beach scene. It was SOO MUCH FUN!! Our friend Gayle met us there. We had such a great time.
